Wellbi didn’t begin with a grand plan to build a fashion brand.

After studying Computer Science and starting my career in the corporate world, I found myself wanting to build something more meaningful. That journey took me into the development sector, where I worked closely with rural livelihoods and handloom communities.

It was there that my curiosity about clothing really began.
The first few years were anything but straightforward. We experimented with fabrics, worked with different manufacturers, made plenty of mistakes and kept learning from what customers came back for and what they didn’t.

Over time, one thing became very clear to us: great clothing starts with great fabric.

That thinking changed Wellbi.

We started building around fabrics that could make everyday clothing softer, more breathable and more comfortable, while being more thoughtful about what goes into making them. Bamboo became an important part of that journey, and today we continue to experiment with fabrics and blends based on one simple question: does this genuinely make the product better to wear?

What started in Mysuru in 2021 with a handful of products has grown into a fabric-led apparel brand worn by customers across India.

But the philosophy hasn’t changed.

Make clothes people genuinely love wearing. Make them well enough that they come back for another. And keep finding better ways to make them.
